Marketing Automation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Email Marketing Specialist to lead a project focused on automation and lifecycle marketing. This is a project-based role for Q1 2025, with the potential for a long-term engagement based on performance and results. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DTC, Ecommerce, or B2B email marketing, with a proven track record in driving conversions, sales, and retention through effective CRM and lifecycle marketing strategies.

Contract duration: 3-months (with the potential for a long-term engagement based on performance).

Working Environment: 16-20 hours a week

Main Responsibilities:

1. Audit & Analysis: 

  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of our existing email marketing setup, including current automation flows, user segmentation, and CRM management. 
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in our current lifecycle marketing strategy.

2. Strategy Development: 

  • Collaborate with the Head of Marketing to develop a robust lifecycle marketing strategy. 
  • Recommend updates, overhauls, and new flows to optimize the user journey and enhance engagement. 

3. Automation Flow Design & Implementation: 

  • Design and implement automated email flows tailored to key lifecycle moments such as: some text
    • Failed payment recovery 
    • Abandoned cart reminders 
    • Lead nurturing sequences 
    • User onboarding and activation 
    • Usage-based upselling 
    • Retention and win-back offers 
    • And more... 
    • Build and deploy these flows in Customer.io. 

4. Segmentation & Database Management: 

  • Develop and refine user segmentation strategies to ensure personalized and relevant messaging. 
  • Manage and optimize the CRM database to maintain data hygiene and improve targeting. 

5. Performance Tracking & Optimization: 

  • Track and monitor key performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, etc.).
  • Provide regular performance reports and insights. 
  • Continuously optimize flows and campaigns based on data-driven insights.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in DTC, Ecommerce, or B2B email marketing, with a focus on CRM, lifecycle marketing, and automation. 
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable results, including increased conversions, sales, and customer retention. 
  • Deep expertise in user segmentation, database management, and CRM platforms such as HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Brevo, and Customer.io. 
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
